22 creedmoor vs 6 creedmoor for sub 600 yard Big game?

I myself vote for 6mm. I am getting 3400fps with a 95gr Accubond shooting sub moa. I like to have a little more bullet with the game size possibilities you mentioned. Not knocking 22 just putting in my 2cents.

if you shot something like a 88 out of the 22 creed would you really be giving anything up in comparison to a 95gr 6mm?

Yep 6 creed is the way to go. Then you can use it to hunt big game in all states. In Colorado you can’t hunt with .224 for big game

That might be a factor for us residents but not for me in Canada. The 22 cm does have a few advantages in short barrels to 600 over the 6 cm that's what led me to the 22

The advantages are the same as basically any other situation where a case is necked down one bore size. Faster, flatter, less recoil. The 88 ELDm has a BC thats basically on par with 108 ELDm.

Ya basically as said above the 22cm has a little better velocity to bc ratio, especially in a short barrel. Also little less recoil. It's not a real big difference but it does exist. Either one is a good choice,for me I figured the 22 was a little gooder.

I've read and listened to as much as I can learning about the effectiveness and shootability of smaller caliber rifles for big game and I'm planning a re barrel. It sounds like for deer to possibly elk 600 yards and in with good bullets the 22 creed has the advantage over the 6 creed.
My question for the guys using them, an area I hunt every fall withen a two week trip I can shoot mule deer, whitetail, elk, and moose. It's coulee / breaks and ag land so shots can vary from muzzle to my limit of 600 yards. Would you move up to a 6 creedmoor or are you confident using your 22 creed for that hunt?

There's a few of us up here in northern bc that have killed elk,moose deer and black bears and mnt goat with the 22 creedmore most popular bullets have been 75-80 eldm, 80.5 berger fullbore , 85.5 berger lrht , 88 eldm.

For sub 800 yards there isn’t a realistic reason to choose a 6CM over a 22CM when shooting heavy for caliber high BC bullets.

This is coming from a huge 6mm fan for decades.

If you plan to hunt in the handful of states that require 6mm minimum, and plan to abide by that law, then go 6CM.

Haha that's funny. No problems with the .224 up here. Barrel is at the smiths now. Will start with peterson brass and 88 eldm. Appreciate all the good info
