Hello!

I’ve been reading and watching YouTube videos on the 22 Creedmoor and really want to build one. Would love to do it off a tikka action. Can someone point me to a post or video on the best way to accomplish this or lay it out for me here??

Which tikka and what caliber?
CF or steel barrel?
Who makes the best prefit barrels for these?

Thanks in advance!!

-any tikka and any cartridge with a standard bolt face (basically not 223 or a magnum)
-up to you. I like carbon for the aesthetic personally but steel is supposed to be more consistent
-again, lots of options and opinions. Preferred barrel blanks, carbon six, UM, sending a blank to a smith

Could also consider starting with a 1:8 22-250 Tikka and having it rechambered to 22 Creed. That does limit barrel length and contour options (depending on what you’re after).

I have 18 and 20” prefits, and new actions in stock. Nothing easier…

Reach out by PM, I will give you my cell phone. I have a couple threads on the 22 creed as well. Love the 22 creed.

Done!

This is what I did and for what I paid am happy with the result. Standard stainless lite tikka - chopped to 18". When this barrel is done I will either hunt for a tikka takeoff or just go the preferred barrels route probably.

Will do. I’d like this to be a super short (16” +/-) light weight rifle build. Hopefully I can get one built soon!

While I haven't done a rifle build with him... yet, I have purchased a couple of products and been very satisfied with both product and CS after the sale. I would buy from him without reservation. 10/10 Do recommend.

I can’t seem to get ahold of him via PM. Anyone got a number?

We spoke a few times. Such a great guy and super helpful. Ordered an 18” variant with a tikka stainless action. It will be going in a Peak 44 stock but now I need to decide what glass goes on it. I’ve got a NX8, Swaro Z5i plus and a Arken EPL4. The Z5i was supposed to be for my 300 PRC I’m waiting on because I don’t plan on “playing with it” once it’s zeroed. The NX8 was for my 6.5prc I was building for my kids BEFORE I discovered the 22 Creedmoor. The arken was for my 7 backcountry im still waiting on from hells canyon lol. I know, first world problems….opinions?

The NX8 is the one. Sell the others haha.

Hahahaha!! This is my 3rd NX8. Love them but DANG they are expensive. I like them a lot BUT the swaro’s I have are soooo nice and clear. They aren’t bomb proof but I love the simplicity for hunting. Just took one on my 300 Win mag to Africa and it did GREAT for taking animals out to 500 easy. I like it for a “zero and kill” rifle. For one I’ll be playing with and trying different loads and plinking, I like the more complex reticle and what not. Excited to try the arken. Pretty nice for the money!

Does anyone have experience shooting lighter 55-60 gr bullets through a .120 FB chamber?
