22 ARC Rifle review Kelby Atlas Lite

Apples and oranges maybe, but my 7mm Backcountry rifle with its 16.5” barrel shot 2920 FPS with the tipped Federal 175’s. I am digging the short barrel suppressed guns a lot.

What round count did that fast twist 16” barrel start to stabilize velocity wise with the 88s? And, what is the average MV once stabilized?

I built a 22 arc and a 6arc gas gun using 18" rainier barrels and the 22 arc is my favorite by far. Initial testing is great with everything from 55 grain to 80 grain. I'm using lapua 220 russian brass fireformed and so far it hammers. I can't wait to build a bolt gun and really stretch it out.
Curious why you prefer the 22ARC vs the 6ARC? Specific to the rifle(s), the use case(s), or the rounds themselves?

Update on the rifle:

6 deer were killed with this set up. From head shots to heart shots, the bullet kills FAST.

Everyone that shot it was blown away by how quiet, and little recoil there is. They all want one as their primary hunting rifle.

What would I do different? I'd go carbon fiber barrel to save some ounces. It's only used for hunting, so not worried about round count.

I can't tell from mobile - is that barrel matte blued and then the fluting is cerakoted? Or is the barrel cerakoted black and the grooves OD? Their website only shows options for whole barrel or flutes only.

Today I received my @XLR chassis I ordered from Red Hawk Rifles. They are becoming my go to as of late for parts as they ship same day and have a great selection of goodies.

This rifle will be primarily for predators and wolf hunting. Initially I'll be shooting Hornady's 88gr eldm's. I'll stretch it out once I have the dope chart and see how they fly.

I am going to do a review on this Kelbly Atlas Lite with Preferred Barrel Blanks Double hex steel barrel. Here are some of the specs:

Action is Kelbly Atlas Lite SA with 75 degree bolt throw
Barrel is Preferred Barrel Blanks Chrome moly bead blasted 16", 5R, 1:6.5 twist, lapped
Mag is Magpul 308 AICS

I'm waiting on the rail and then I'll be able to mount a scope and get it chrono'd to see what kind of speeds I'll be getting with the 16".

Current weight with empty mag is 6lb 15oz.

I will be shooting suppressed. Kicking myself as after all this time waiting on parts, I'm held up by a rail, and my stupid oversight...

I will continue to edit this thread as I move along the process. Any questions, let me know.

Sweet rig you got there man. PBB has a kelbly atlas lite barreled action I'm looking at. How do you find the atlas lite, specifically how smooth it is?

Still shooting the 88’s?

Factory or hand loaded?

What impact velocity range on the six kills?

What kind of performance are you getting on deer with that bullet? Any exits? Really thinking about stepping my son up to a 22cm or a 6arc from his .223. He makes good shots but we've had a few run off, under 100yds, but it was a pain because there was no blood trail with the 77tmks and a 16" barrel in the thick brush. Selfishly, I've wanted a 22cm since I built my 6cm.
