I've got a Seekins Element 7 PRC with a 22" barrel and I *think* I want a reflex style suppressor. Currently I have a TBAC Ultra 7 on the gun and while it does fine with noise and recoil, I'd like something a bit shorter. Research led me to the UM OG and the AB Raptor. Any other viable options that only protrude 4-5" past the muzzle? Would I be better served with the OG-L (not a fan of the weight) due to increased volume being its going on a PRC?

Long term goal is to have the barrel cut down to 20" and use a suppressor that only adds 4" to the muzzle so that the complete package is about the same length as a standard rifle with a 24" barrel.

The airlock 7mm will be the absolute quietest for the added length . It’s in a whole different class of suppression than the OG , even though the airlock isn’t a reflex design .

For a reflex can, your options are the US/UM designs or the AB designs. I own examples of each. In my extended experience, the OG is a perfectly fine can. It does very well on my 21" .270. It also worked well on my 20" 6.5 CM and 24" .25-06. Some people have not liked it on short barrels (16-18"). Others have no problem with it. And Presswood hates it. You can read all about it in the feedback threads. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/unknown-suppressors-og-testing.406327/

There will be a reflex mount option for the US/UM Reaper sometime in early 2026. That would be close to the AB Raptor 8 in overall length, but probably lighter. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/us-reaper-and-reaper-with-otb-eval-q-a.420294/

The two AB Raptor cans I own are longer than you are seeking. I have the 7.62 Raptor 8 with a 3" reflex and the 7.62 Raptor 10 with a 5" reflex. I have no complaints about either can, but they are a bit heavy. I would expect the Raptor 4 or 6 with 3-4" reflex to be comparable to the OG, but I have not personally tried them and AB does not list suppression ratings for them on their website. I really like the Raptor 8 on my 20" 6.5 CM Tikka. I currently have the Raptor 10 on a 16.1" .223 Tikka.

The Airlock 7mm can may be an option for you, but it has not been released yet and we don't know its final statistics. The designer has said it may be a trifle quieter than the Airlock 6.5, while being .5" longer and .85 ounces heavier. That would put it at around 4.75" past the muzzle. Based on the designer's posts, it should be durable. It will be available for pre-order in December 2025. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/air-lock-industries-suppressor.415661/post-4326145

This is one version of the spreadsheet I made when searching for a new hunting can.

A more recent spreadsheet I made is linked in this thread, which captures my requirements for a hunting can: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/ranking-suppressors-by-unweighted-z-weighted-values.420638/

I understand your desire to have an overall length of only 24" for barrel plus suppressor. I personally am very happy with 26" overall length. The 6-7" cans, particularly the ones with reflex options (Raptor 8, 10, and Reaper) are generally better for suppression than the shorter cans. Volume is really important, although it appears that the Airlock's design is far more effective at trapping gas and therefore punches above its weight (at the expense of heating up very fast). I don't own an Airlock at this time, but it is an intriguing option to me.

Hopefully this is helpful to you.

I have 2 US OGs and I went with them because of their 4" muzzle forward and 4" over the barrel length, smaller diameter, and I have a variety of calibers. I also wanted a can that could handle a large number of rounds at once. I am not very friendly to my cans.

If your barrel is carbon wrapped, you will need to use the US OG-L to ensure sufficient clearance.

If you are happy with the TBAC, and it's rated for it, I would consider cutting your barrel down to 18". That's cheaper than buying a new can.
