2026 Weight Loss Thread

Starting my own weight loss journey this year. They didn't lie when they said the weight sticks around more once you're in your 30s. 6'2 current 245. Hoping to get to around 200 with some more added muscle. Keep it up, great progress so far.

I’ve always been super active. Wrestling from the age of 5 till 22 when I got outta the Corps. Lifting, rucking, running. About to turn 38. I was 170ish and pretty lean at the start of our Sept archery season.

I really dialed in my diet and training. Went from high weight, low reps to lighter weight and higher reps.

I’m currently 147ish and I’m in the best shape of my life. I was for sure over training and not eating enough protein.

My goal was 150 and lean but man I feel amazing. Not sure how light I wanna get, wrestled at 112-119-125 but that was 20-25 yeats ago. If I can maintain 145-150 and keep my strength and mobility for years to come I will be tickled pink!

I had the same problem with protein and overtraining and at 45 I’m finally learning to settle in to a good weight with functional strength and mobility. I’m the same I feel great so don’t want to change to much

Wow that’s incredible, that is some consistency and discipline right there, can’t wait to see next weigh in!!

I’m on day 15 of 30 Hard, with my diet being carnivore. I’ll refrain from sharing weight loss stats as this isn’t my thread, but just wanted you to know that I am grateful for the motivation 👊🏻

Saturday morning weigh in:

1/17/26 - 255.5

only down 1.2 pounds from last week, but I also wasn’t as active on the cardio this past week. Also think my body is adapting and adjusting a bit to the diet and exercise.

On Tuesday the 20th that will be one month since I started this journey…goal is to be down to 253 or under which would be 20 pound loss in a one month period.

Puts me on track to be at my total goal weight by mid to end of April.

Progress is still good, our bodies are to smart to not change things up, keep it up, congrats on step closer👊🏻

I thought it was important to record a weigh in today as today -1/20/26, is exactly 1 month since I started this journey. The stretch goal was to loose 20 pounds in the first month. The last two days I ramped up the cardio to help try to reach that milestone.

12/20/25 - Started at a fat 273
1/20/26 - 252.8 - down 20.2 pounds.

My hope is that I can continue the average of losing 20 pounds a month but I don’t think my body will allow me to get there and push back some. I feel my caloric deficit is as low as I want to go.

if I settle somewhere into around 15 pounds a month range probably could live with that.

Overall Goal is 195.

For me the first half of 2026 is all about weight loss. Too many excuses to list but in the end I weighed more this year than any point in my life. Any life/fitness/hunting goal will come 2nd to loosing the weight first.

I wanted to start a thread just to post updates and to hold other accountable for those going through similar large weight loss journeys into 2026.

I have a big number to hit and after years of trying and not being locked - enough is enough. First part of December I was hovering in the 270s (5’11) - my goal is to be at 195, so a 70-75 pound loss.

Knowing I couldn’t afford to go thru the holidays and gain even more weight, I decided to start my weight loss journey a few weeks early. Reached out to a very helpful fellow Rokslider who shared a bunch of tips and steps that he used in a massive weight loss journey and said - Eff it - let’s get going, all in on what ever it takes (supplements, diet, exercise, strength training)

Day 1 weigh in - 12/20/25 - 273 pounds
Today - 12/26 - 264.

My plan is try to post a once a week update on here…
Congrats on not kicking the can down the road to start! Good goal, I recommend a good program to go with diet. I am a big fan of Jeff Nippard, he's got some great programs to help with burning fat and gaining some functional muscle.

Im right there as well, rocking a pretty solid dad bod for the past 10 years.

My wife and I are looking at our parents, whose health is failing or will be failing soon and the burden it is putting on us because they also have failed to plan for this and we have committed to 1) taking better care of ourselves and 2) not burdening our son with the same things our parents are doing to us.

Simple diet change so far. Limited carbs and only from whole foods, no grain or starch, plenty of meat and fat.
I am only eating once a day, dinner only although ive seen some things that say it should be lunch instead of dinner.

Its pretty easy to stick to, cravings are mild and manageable.

less than 3 weeks in and I am down 9lbs.

We do need to add in strength training. I walk a decent amount for work but that is about all the activity I get these days. My wife gets less.

We CAN achieve our goals!

Also, something I heard recently (from Dr Ben BIkman) put something in a way I had never heard before and it really slammed home things for me and ties in with another fact.

"It is impossible for humans to store fat without insulin"
Which ties in with: the minimum daily carbohydrates for humans is ZERO
Protein is essential
There are essential fats.
There are NO essential carbs.

I really enjoy a few youtube channels:
Dr Sten Ekberg - he does a great job of explaining exactly what happens metabolically
Dr Eric Berg - also good explanations of metabolic functions
Dr Ben Bikman - new one ive just discovered
