2026 Traditional Archery Success

Been a tough spring season chasing pigs down here in Florida due the the exceptional drought we have been under. We had one heavy rain day a few weeks back and I just knew that evening when the rain stopped they would be on their feet so I made a point to be out there. Spotted this sow at roughly 50yds while I was slipping through some cover in a light rain, followed her a ways until I got a favorable wind angle and was able to stalk in to 18yds. Stuck a 250gr day six evo through her heart and she made about a 60yd dash before tipping over.

Only a couple more months until South Zone deer season and I couldn’t be more ready for it!

First post on RS

Made the full switch into traditional instinctive shooting 3 seasons ago and im HOOKED. So far 11 deer down and a few small game. No big bucks yet but as I see it any meat i harvest with a recurve is trophy enough for me, still waiting on getting a gobbler but another spring has passed and no dead bird to show for it. Next year

a few from this past season

Broke my wrist packing out my 2025 bull and blew both shoulders out at the gym in late January. ( long story ) Had to cancel my Black Widow PLX order as I didn’t think I was going to be able to draw a bow all summer. Tons of PT and good healing genetics got me to last week being able to finally get my longbow back to full draw. At any rate, yesterday finally got a chance to make a shot. 15 yards and just smoked him. A nice skin for a few finger tabs and delicious summer meal to finish it off 🤙🤙🤙🤙. Not sure I’ll be able to be able to elk hunt this September but I’m going to stay positive and keep after it. If not the rifles will get a work out in general season!!
