In December we (Montana) were almost green and blue (at or above normal) for the entire state. Then came January w/ one of the lowest snow totals across the state for nearly century (and well above temperatures). Early February started the same, but recently got some much needed snow (and couple with cooler temps), so things are looking better.

I know a lot of the western states are hurting too.

Here we are as of yesterday—could be better, but could be worse too.

Getting a few good inches of very wet snow last night has me hopeful as this weather pattern in the ocean changes we will get one of the springs that dumps the snow. 5 years ago we had almost nothing till february and then got 3 feet in one march storm.

We got 3 ft of snow in sept one year. By elk season it melted off. I remember one feb in the 90s when it was warm while I changed front brake pads. In March we got 3 ft of wet snow.

The winter is not done yet. The time to reflect on the winter is July. Then we can bitch about the heat.
