2026 SHOT SHOW releases

Backfire dropped a hunting chassis in his latest video about an hour ago. It's called the Backlight 30oz $849. Looks well thought out and definitely is going to be a player in that segment.

Looks nice… Adjustible LOP (12-15”), bore centerline recoil pad, light, priced below peers..

20 gauge a300 ultima patrol is neat. Not really moved by much else. The new Savages might be interesting. I've always respected them as shooters but never cared for their actions(rough), mags(feeding issues), stocks(heavy AND flimsy) or triggers(not a fan of bladed triggers). I really like that they're offering 22cm, 25cm and 7bc.

Franklin Armory introduces a new action and rifle with total round control, hybrid of a CRF and new design:

Yeah I watched the pitch and Im stilll not quite sure exactly what TRC is. In the Backfire vid he said something like "and as you extract, it shoots the empty shell out and away"............you mean like everything else?

Not UL backcountry related, but this new skeet thrower released from Caldwell looks like a hoot.

I've got the hand held Nordic Clays thrower that Caldwell copied. It's a lot of fun. Looks like Caldwell beat Nordic to the punch with a stationary thrower. They've had one "coming soon" for a long time.

The Benelli guy in the BF video.....what a puddle of doo doo that Q&A was.

it reminds me of the meme thats been around for a long time.

A-"im going to get the new iphone"
B-"why?"
A-"because theres a new iphone"
B-"but whats better about it"
A-"its the new iphone"
B-"right, but what does it do that your old one doesnt"
A-"its the new iphone"

I have a NF 3-18x50 NF6 F1 in MIL-C on pre-order now. I'd have preferred the MIL-R reticle (or just a better reticle in general) but I'm going to try it out whenever it does come in.
