Im conflicted on the matter.Go back and look at Ranaldo red card in the qualifier..It's the definition on inducing injury..you don't throw elbows like that for sport, but he gets to play...when you compare the 2 fouls it's a not close.
If Ranaldo can get and article 27 excemption...WHY NOT US?
If your not a fan of politics in the game why do you follow FIFA? It's the most corrupt non political organization in the world. They have their own politics. Politicians wish they could get away with what FIFA does.
FIFA, NFL, WWE...all pretty much the same just different sports.
Not much of an option if you like international soccer with fifa.
Not that i love fifa or don't think they have plenty of their own problems but they are trying to arbitrate lots of bias opinions. These federations, fans, and clubs all have their own interests and finances in mind. The fans and pundits are like more ridiculous and predatory versions of college football fanbases in the US. I think FIFA opened a can of worms. FIFA needed to deal with this issue quickly within FIFA before outside parties started weighing in and trying to influence the decision. Too late now because every decision is going to look worse to someone.
UEFAs reaction to the balogun suspension thing is a perfect example of how ridiculous soccer federations and pundits can be. Seeing organizations like UEFA come out with statements on the matter like they did, makes me want to raise my middle finger to all the complainers. UEFA is/was in the same boat as FIFA. If they were so worried about red card suspensions being upheld and the integrity of the game, they probably should have issued a strong statement when it was their player -CR7 getting cleared since that is the precedent being used. Now when it is somone elses player getting cleared to play against one of their members they are very upset. Hogwash.
