2026 Rokslide World Cup Thread

Ridiculous red card. Balogun all over again.

It has been entertaining, though.

My buddy said they should let them fight like hockey…get rid of the faking, hahaha.

I disagree. When you slide in on a challenge you put yourself in that situation if it goes bad. Its always been that way. There is a huge difference between a sliding challenge and 2 players staying their feet and a player accidently stepping on another.

It was mild enough that there was no card in the field, not even a yellow. Spotting a red after that felt “influenced.”

As a die hard Gunner, Haaland has been a thorn in my side for the last four years since he moved to City from Borussia but i admire his skill and tenacity.
It has been cool watching Norway advance and after England's performance tonight it should be a great game on the 11th.
Portugal /Spain tomorrow should be a masterclass in football.

Odegaard has been great.

The manner in which var is used is and has been a point of major controversy. A lot of time peoples opinion is based on which side of the decisions they fall. The lack of an appeals process for red cards i think is one issue. There is always going to be opinions on what should be red or yellow in the heat of the game. It looks to me like fifa has told refs to hold yellows a little more than normal. I think fifa wants star players on the field in games.

That's obvious...why do think they envoked article 27 for Ranaldo in '25. If wasn't for that he wouldn't be playing in the World Cup. FIFA is about making money full stop. Some of it above the table most of it under the table.

Looks like FIFA reversed the Red Card against Balogun and he'll be able to play against Belgium.

i have to admit after looking into it more, I think Balogun should have stayed suspended unless it was an appeals process available to every team. Bad call or not, not a fan of politics in the game whether that is activism flags on team's kits, kneeling before the game, Jack Warner, or calls to get cards overturned. Just stains what has been a good WC.

Go back and look at Ranaldo red card in the qualifier..It's the definition on inducing injury..you don't throw elbows like that for sport, but he gets to play...when you compare the 2 fouls it's a not close.
If Ranaldo can get and article 27 excemption...WHY NOT US?

If your not a fan of politics in the game why do you follow FIFA? It's the most corrupt non political organization in the world. They have their own politics. Politicians wish they could get away with what FIFA does.

FIFA, NFL, WWE...all pretty much the same just different sports.
