2026 Rokslide World Cup Thread

And the falling down and rolling on the ground while grimacing like Civil War field hospital amputation is embarrassing.
Yes, we all agree that’s it’s ridiculous. The player already knows they are going to get the foul call so just wait for the ref to call it then get up. It’s just so they can get an advantage or slow the play down.

Red card was bologna. No ill intent and was a natural step in that direction without looking. I've yet to hear a rules analyst say it should have been red. As someone else mentioned, I would say the same thing if it were on a Bosnia player. Messi's red card that he didn't get was much worse. Round of 16 will be extremely tough without Balogun. Good thing Belgium doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders... Yet.

I try to watch a bit every time world cup comes on and it's like I forget the extent of the embellishment every time or it's gotten worse. And maybe i'm just getting more curmudgeony with age but the combination of the injury act going on for minutes and the fookin clock continuing to roll is irritating. Like can you just have game clocks that run when the game is running and stop when it's not like every other sport? Shorten up the halfs to accomodate. The whole not knowing when the game is gonna end bit is dumb.

Who would’ve thought little ol’ Cape Verde would put Argentine up against the ropes.

Despite the flops and despite FIFA, this World Cup is so much fun.

I took my family to Top Golf in Albuquerque for some fun on my Birthday today. We timed it just right to stay and watch Argentina vs Cape Verde on a giant screen. It was an incredible game and the whole place was cheering for their team. So much fun!
