2026 NRL Hunter Thread

How'd it go? Thoughts?
I will echo what others have said. I enjoyed the match. This is only my second shoot, I did Mason Valley NRL earlier this year.
I enjoyed the sliding scale which benefited people shooting higher power factors and lighter rifles. I was able to shoot my hunting rifle in almost its exact setup as I carried it last year(only difference was 10rd mag, bipod being attatched and a Muzzle brake). That made for better practice and tangible improvements in shooting confidence and ability with my actual hunting rifle in relatively realistic field scenarios.

Weigh in/Check in and velocity were the same as NRL hunter.
The course of fire was fun and they had a variety of steel targets of which all were realistic animals with realistic target positions with the exception of one stage that just had gongs and squares(also fun too).
I liked the idea of the "vitals" targets and I think they were well recieved by all.
The additional 2nd glassing position added a little extra to the aspect of time management.
The stages were set in a way that that didn't favor a specific shooting stance, I used everything from Prone/Bipod to Standing with a tripod.
The Prize table was really good, I got a great prize even though I finished in the middle of the pack.
Food was good on both days.
Overall a good experience with a great group of guys, I am definitely planning on shooting it again next year. I will continue to improve/evaluate my gear and skills so that I can be more competitive next time.

Well I signed up for the 1-day match at Cameo on 5/23. Any other roksliders planning to shoot?
I'll be there (I'm the co-MD of the match).

I've been talking to a number of other MDs in Utah, western CO, and the front range to see if we can get a league together for 1-day nrl hunter games matches for next season. I'll run 3-4 at Cameo. Then hopefully we can get some in vernal, price, and on the front range in larkspur and fort collins.

Heck of a first post Clint. Thanks for putting on the match, and I know a bunch of guys on here would be stoked for more 1-day matches on the front range!

Add me to the list that would appreciate more single day matches.

I would also like to see the two day matches do check in on Saturday morning. I understand their reasoning, but like giblet said, it becomes almost a three day event.
I'm pushing for a lot more 1-day matches and set up the site in a way that they're easier to find and register for. They're MUCH simpler to run and way more accessible cost/time wise for most people.

Saturday check-in is interesting too. They did that at the pro/am in idaho this year and despite the craziness of the pro/am setup and fog things still ran on time for the most part. Seth and Brian are very experienced MDs though, so not sure how well others would pull it off.

Some 1 days in Utah would be amazing!!!!🙌

Saturday check ins would definitely help!

For the one days it would be easier to justify the further drive if there were say 12 stages. Maybe not everyone feels that way since it might make for a longer day - but I also wanna shoot more :)

I would personally love more one day matches or Saturday check-ins, but the only issue for us being from Louisiana is that it almost doesn't seem worth it for us to drive to a one day match. Ending late on a Sunday and then the post-match festivities usually make for a long ride home.
