2026 New Crispi Boots - Lapponia Pro & Alpine Lite

I already have a bunch of other Crispi boots with more than adequate ankle support so am considering the Lapponia lites. I'm actually going to the other extreme to stiffer boots. You are right that stiff, all leatherish boots will likely last longer, so there are advantages for each.

I think the lites would be nice for everyday hiking when lighter weight is an advantage for covering miles of country. Stiffer boots may be ok, but there are advantages to a more flexible boot.....less weight and the ability to feel what's under your feet for stalking quietly.

Everyones feet and ankles are a little different. Also, it's nice to have a selection of boots for different terrain and circumstances. My heavy stiff boots sit on the shelf around 99% of the time but do come in handy from time to time.

I have the V2 Lapponia and the lacing goes from the hook to the cloth loop then back to the hook. It’s a mess once you fully loosen the laces. I would think all hooks thru that area would be an improvement. I have not seen the boots in person. They look nice!
Lapponia III were all hooks as well, no cloth loop. It was hook positioning and type that changed from III to Pro. On the III the third hook from the top allows me better control to vary the tightness between the foot area and the area above the ankle. It is just how it felt to me in a 10 minute demo of the Pro’s. But I do agree all hooks are better than the cloth loop.

Maybe I am confused about what cloth loop you’re referring to, but I’ve found the hook system on the pros to be very comfortable so far. I’ve been able to adjust tension pretty well, and keep them tight but comfortable. When I had a pair of Schnee’s, I struggled getting them tight on my ankle, but had too much pressure on the top of my foot. So far I’m pleased with the Pros but it’ll take at least turkey season to put on enough miles to be able to have a real opinion.

I have never seen a cloth loop on lapponia pro or lapponia III. Someone else commented on a cloth loop on Lapponia II, which I have never had in my hands and cannot confirm or deny. I only commented that the lapponia III in fact had all metal loops. Both the lapponia pro and lapponia III are all metal lacing systems. If you look at them side by side, you will notice the third hook from the top has been changed in location and hook type.

Glad the pros work for you. For me, I preferred the III.
