2026 Grizzly/ Brown Bear hunt….who's going?

What kind of winter did the peninsula have? Unit 9.

Hopefully one of the locals will reply with a more recent update but from what I heard, it was one of the worst winters in history talking to some folks down there a month or so ago.

I'll be a packer for a buddy near the AK Penninsula Wildlife Refuge this year. First time and couldn't be more excited. We'll have two repeat rifle hunters over three weeks.

Type of winter has never seemed to effect spring bear hunting. They come out the same
Time if there zero snow or 12’ of snow it seems
Like. And by may the snow is melting fast usually anyway.

You can DM about the outfitter. He's low key and a first-class human being. Story changed anyway. Sounds like he got it done late in the day yesterday, waiting on details. Looking back, I shot my kodiak on May 7th and remember the activity picking up quite a bit around the 5th.
