2026 conservation raffles

Some of the requirements have to do with State laws regarding gaming. Read the fine print on most gaming in the various States that have it and the rules will be similar.

So what is the purpose of that requirement?
Meaning that “if” you’re already planning on attending Sheep Show, you’ll also be able to purchase the aforementioned raffle tickets that require someone to physically be in Nevada at time of sale.

I'm extremely concerned about the Idaho WildSheep Auction. When I bought the ticket there are no spaces on the "ticket" itself for contact information. Just first and last name, so all drawn names will have to be matched back through the payment processor. The contact information is only located in the billing section of the purchase.

Compared to the fairly strong language regarding winners must be reasonably easy to reach in the T&C there could easily be foul play involved. They seem like decent folks over there, but I sure don't like the process.

Arizona also made that a rule last year for their Super tags. It was Resident pushback there

The auction tags were resident pushback. I thought the “in state” requirement for buying tickets was a gaming commission deal.

The Fraternity of Desert Bighorns don’t do many raffles from what I remember and they are a Nevada org as well; I cannot imagine an organization purposely limiting a raffle to sheep show attendees…the sheep show doesn’t even have exclusive in person raffles or auctions.

They are trying to raise the most money possible.

I am glad I snagged an AZ OTC deer tag so I will be able to buy some supertag tickets this year. Missed out last year.

Nevada and Arizona are both State law requirements that you are supposed to be physically present in the State at the time of purchase. Many States are the same and many times the law is not followed. Do a quick Google search if you want to know more.

I'm Sure no one enforces the physically present to rule to buy tickets.

However I bet it would be questionable if you actually won the raffle? And very easy to enforce then…

I talked with one of the guys who runs the AZSBG raffle…whatever it is called a few years ago when the change is made. They absolutely check if you win and I use my phone to purchase as it will ping your location and make it all proper. I want everything up and up if I can get lucky on any one of those tags.

Our Sonora Desert Sheep hunt raffle and one of our rifle raffles are up on the website.

Thanks to all who support MT WSF.

Thanks for all the work you all do! I won a great package last year the highlight being this replica Bob Marshall ram on a Trapper Nelson pack. So cool.

The "OG sheep hunter raffle"!!!

Well, then we've met! (I think) That event is a scramble, but i helped pack up all of the raffles last year and get them sorted to the winners. Congratulations. I always wonder who wins our stuff and whether/how they display use it, etc.

We have another sold out banquet in Bozeman coming up in March!!

I’ve got my ticket and your life member raffle is the carrot getting me to make the long journey.

It is a great banquet, very well run with so much more than just a banquet. The partnership you have with FWP and the biologist is very impressive and you and RMBS in Colorado are the best I’ve seen in that regard.

Keep up the good work and I’d encourage anyone interested in Montana sheep to experience that March weekend.

Someone in that room WILL win a sheep hunt!!

I've been volunteering at that event since 2016 and I've been on the board of directors for 3 years now - so THANK YOU for the kind words! We have some incredible people that have gotten the organization to the level we're at now and our membership is awsome to work for. 2026 will be another BIG year for putting money on the ground.

It's a super fun weekend! Usually a shit show behind the scenes, but we pull it off😅
