Hey all it’s almost that time again. Supporting the non profit groups raffles is a great option and usually better odds than state draws. There are getting to be a ton of for profit “raffles” out there as well but personally I’d rather support a non profit where the money is going to the mission we care about “putting sheep on the mountain” vs putting it in companies pockets. The Idaho wild sheep foundation has a stone sheep raffle and a new Dream Hunt giveaway where you can choose what to spend up to $50k on! Please consider supporting these or one of the other WSF chapters. Fyi the last couple stone sheep winners came on gifted tickets so put them on your Christmas lists! lol

I like supporting conservation groups with buying raffle tickets for presents. I've had 2 family members win hunts with gift tickets.

I was just starting to ask if we could do a thread like this. It would be great if when people become aware of a sheep hunt or tag raffle that they post a link to the raffle here.

Raffle tickets to non-profits are generally not considered tax deductible.

But the Dream Hunt Giveaway is technically $50 for a membership, and that membership comes with a free ticket. Does that workaround not make it tax deductible?

Not a big deal in the big scheme. But if you can save a few bucks in taxes it would be nice.

Edit: ChatGPT says I’m probably wrong.

Well, I understand mathematics and do not expect to win. However, I have entered all of the sheep raffles listed above. I also understand someone is going to win so good luck to all who enter.

The Eastern Chapter of Wild Sheep Foundation has 4 raffles already to go to be drawn at our Expo on February 28th, 2026. Tickets can be purchased at: https://ecwsf.org/hunting-raffles/. There is a November 2026 Desert Sheep hunt with La Palmosa, Fall 2026 Marco Polo Sheep as well as a Mid Asian Ibex hunt with Arcqos Safaris and a November 2026 Roosevelt Elk hunt with Spoon Creek Outfitters in Oregon with a Black Bear or Columbia Blacktail possible addition. While checking out the raffles, be sure to check out other parts of the site to see more about ECWSF and some of the work that we are able to do with our small, but great organization. We have some great hunts in the work for our Expo auctions as well. Check the website the end of January to see what will be auctioned off. Thanks,
