Gorgeous buck! I am curious as to why you loaded up 120 grains of 777 though. When I used a muzzleloader to get a mule deer I only loaded about 85 grains of 777. I don't think I ever tried that much powder in my muzzy.Oregon Muzzleloader. Optima V2, musket cap, Thor 297 grain bullet, 120 grains 777, Williams peep sight, 135 yds.

I've shot 100 grains of triple 7 under a 385 great plains bullet for years. With the lighter bullet I bumped up the powder charge. A lot of people run 90-120 grains depending on the bullet. You just have to see what shoots best in your muzzleloader. The 297 Thor over 120 grains was just under 1800 fps.Gorgeous buck! I am curious as to why you loaded up 120 grains of 777 though.
