(2025) Old guys go moose hunting too...especially with a helpful son.

Nice job, nice story, and great pics for sure.

And I was happy to hear I was not alone in freaking out when I once saw that Starlink satellite train you referenced. I thought I was witnessing the end of the world! It looked like a barrage of cruise missiles coming into North America from the far east. We were packed in high in the mountains of Washington State, had no cel signal, no way to call anybody or investigate anything. It wasn't until we got home days later that we were able to learn what we'd seen.

Anybody else seen this while out there?

Thank you, sir.

Seeing that Starlink satellite train for the first time was truly an out of this world experience, especially when doing so in such a remote setting where we were. My initial reaction was a verbal WTF and pointing up for my son to see it 😵‍💫. Like you, I also first thought it was missiles launched from somewhere...or UFO/UAP's.
(Again, thank you son for being better informed than I...saved me from a lot of worry and a few satellite-phone calls :ROFLMAO:.)

For those reading who have not yet seen the 'train, do a search and watch some video-footage...especially if you're one of us older guys who have enjoyed quiet starry night skies for decades.

Excellent experience AKDoc. I am envious that your son is able to get that much time off from work to go hunting with you for that long.
Son and I used to spend time on long hunts to Kodiak for blacktails and to the Koyukuk for moose then he became an adult and a RN and now has to work for a living :(
Congrats on the two bulls and the bounty of meat.

Thank you, sir. I know the feeling. He grew-up hunting with me, but when he finished college each fall became the busiest work time of the year with his job. Took a number of years for him to finally be able to get time away in the fall. He and I both feel very fortunate to have that time together.
