Nice buck! I’ve hunt NE public some when I lived there and it can be a challenge to stir up a good one. Good work!What a blessing to be able to hunt and spend time in Creation. Spotted this buck on public land at around 0845 tending a handful of does and with a satellite buck in tow.

Deliberated what move to make with swirling winds and thick canyons. Ended up pulling a long safe stalk that would put me within 200 yards. Long story short, they jumped ridges and caught me. No shot.

I went up the ridge they were on to rehab and think about life decisions. Within a few minutes I saw his lead doe moving across a ridge at 450 yards. The bucks harem worked the same trail one by one while I got set and dialed way up! Pretty soon the buck followed and stood broadside. I had to collect my breath more than once - but executed a perfect shot and watched him fall.
