Hey folks,

That time of year again. As life happens, my hunt group has had a mix of new-babies and new-state-moves, and it looks like I'll be solo again. I have enough points to draw a semi-premium muzzleloader hunt here in CO, but I've packed out a half dozen elk before and my healthcare plan doesn't cover enough knee-replacement surgery for me to do it solo again :).

Repeating posts I've made before, I work hard on the hunt and take it seriously, but I'm also a pretty easy going guy and I'm always good for beer, T-bones, and dad-jokes around the camp fire. I tend to focus on hunting around 4-6 miles in, and usually alternate between a nice base camp and overnight spike-outs. I come prepared and I'm a provider, not a taker - I'm usually the guy with the "extra stuff others forgot," not the other way around.

I'm not a fitness freak and will never beat you to the top of the mountain, but I do work out enough to get the job done, and if a partner has an elk down 10 miles back, I'm definitely the "who cares if it's 1am, just pound some aspirin and caffeine and get hiking" kind of guy.

We've got a thing here about posting GMU's, so without naming numbers I'll just say my goal is the Gunnison area, with the Flat Tops as a backup/alternate. I'm new to muzzleloader, but I'm an experienced rifle hunter. The zones I'm targeting usually require points to get into but there is a lot of OTC opportunity in the area, so there's potential for this to work a few different ways.

If you're interested at all, please PM me.
