2025 Caribou Hunt with Arctic Air

Can't fix to many hunters and to many transports trying to drop off people in the same places until transporters start managing them selves better and working together it's not going to get better, unless the feds open the land back up to us peons.

When a company takes on 200+ hunters each season and can only do a great job for 75 people, 125+ will take a hit on many levels. AA received many (if not most) deposits from hunters in 2023 to hunt 2025. Wake up and smell what's driving their static and growth...your money and that of your friends.

I am ashamed of what AA and RAM are doing in the Eastern BR. They need a hard lesson in self restraint.

I don’t think I realized RAM was in eastern brooks too? I thought they only did Kotz

Ask 'em where they're dropping folks this year and last.

Caribou herds have crashed all over the world, save the ones everyone is targeting now.

I’ve only seen reports that say RAM was in OTZ last year. I have no clue I’m genuinely curious

Im not going with RAM or AA but this makes me a little nervous. I know herds are not doing great so I figure if Im going to try and get a Caribou better to try now before it gets even worse.

Hello all,

My father and I are headed out the first week of September to kotz. Iv read all the good, bad and super ugly reports coming from AA. Im hopeful our trip will be successful and am keeping high spirits because after everything we will be in the wilderness in Alaska. Can’t beat that I don’t think. We did get lucky from fish and game and get drawn for unit 23. Im hopeful that will help with our odds!

Pretty sure Alaska GMU 23 still has the Federal restriction on Caribou hunting for Non-Local Residents? You would be Limited to State Land only?

Yeah it still does. It seems as if it is state land only. Iv been pre scouting on some maps and it has a lot of fed land but they have only issues 400 tags. So we shall see. I guess we will be at the mercy of the transporters.

We drew this unit as well, looks like we're going the week before you. Let's stay in touch. DM me if you want.

I just got word that my buddy shot his caribou Friday afternoon. He was dropped off Thursday and had the luck of the draw I guess.

I had shown him this thread earlier this year but he ended up going in positive and knew what it was. It was a hunt that he was being dropped off on by a transport company and not an outfitter.

His hunt had been delayed 2 years and I don’t think he necessarily had the best experience leading up to it but I’m glad he stuck with it and ended up having some success. His group is still out there and will be out there until middle of this week.

Thanks for the feedback. We leave Friday morning for AK, hope to get dropped on Sat if weather permits. I've been seeing a couple of success posts on Arctic's IG page. Hope those who have used them this month will be able to post some feedback this week so I can read up!
