Thread on, non-reflex, large volume suppressors (insert manufacturer here).
I’m more familiar with the suppression and signature reduction, and the more recent push for flow through. My current job gives me a lot of access to industry to suit our specific needs (which admittedly is not hunting), but none of the current options we are exploring are reflex suppressors. The only system we have a reflex suppressor for is the m110, and that’s just legacy tech at this point.
If you have specifics that show reflex suppressors perform as well or better, happy to hear different for sure.
KAC’s M110 can is poor by modern standards. However, the OP’s Inc 12th model is one of the best gas gun cans ever made from a dB and tone perspective.
There’s nothing stopping a reflexed can from being as good or bad as any other can. No, total dB reduction with a reflex with 4” past muzzle and 4” over barrel won’t be as high as an 8” past muzzle can- but that’s not the purpose. An 8” reflex can (4/4) isn’t as “quiet” as an 8” standard can, but it is as quiet as a 6” can for example- while reducing OAL 2”- and the tone is better.
America is far behind the rest of the world in suppressors in everything but full auto use- and OTB cans dominate hunting rifles in most places for a reason.
