I'm still amazed by their eyesight. Literally 400 - 500 yards, they pick you out, and watch you, and decide if you are danger.

Congrats, that’s an awesome ram! I hope to one day have a slam, but will have to scrape it together with current pricing.

You can find good deals if you are able to go on last-minute, cancellation, or some fundraiser/auction hunts. Cheaper now than it’s ever been. This is due to the great conservation efforts and legalization of raising sheep to release and incentivizing ranchers by giving them tags to sell in exchange.


I regularly see offers $45-50k free range which is still a lot of $$$ but not really more than other sheep hunts. Even 30-40 years ago they were getting $65k+ which is like $160,000+ adjusted for inflation in today’s dollars (which is still more than a stone sheep)


Research a few outfits and get on a call list. Never going to happen til you commit.
