Thats a SoCal bear? Nice job man! If you dont mind me asking around what elevation did you find him at? I have a spot I wanna hit and im curios if it’s too high for them this late.

Thanks! Ya, solid SoCal bear. I’ve been seeing them between 4 - 6000’. The acorn crop is unreal this year. They’ve been hammering them pretty consistently

I finally got myself a CA bear. He was a brute. I’m shocked with how good he tastes, and the fat rendered down nicely! Bear hunting will definitely be an annual thing for me moving forward!

Congrats, he is a brute. There is so many usable parts to bear and my wife likes the meat more than most wild game. Was it a bear you targeted, what was he eating this time of year etc?

Ya, I was specifically looking for bears. I’ve had a real hard time finding them over the years, but the acorn crop was so good this year that the bears couldn’t resist but feeding on those big plump suckers.

I went out the 24-29 to look for bear at around 2600-3800 Ft in Shasta county. I normally hunt there in the warmer months and there are good numbers of bear there. I have never hunted this late in the year there and I didn't see any signs of active bears.

2024 bear (my first bear) is back from the taxidermist! I’d love to get some display ideas? Not sure if leaving it in the floor will last with my daughter running all around him?

beautiful mount and bear! I hung my bear rug (California bear of sameish size and color) sideways slightly tilted up on the wall. Looks great and itsn't getting messed with like being on ground...
