This was our first Western Hunt as a full family. Mom missed a chance at a giant due to the boys following behind us in anticipation as we stalked in on the target buck. After 4 miles with the boys in 20 degree weather one day and dealing with foggy conditions the next, we decided to quit being concerned about finding a trophy. We wanted these boys to experience success and it not be about antler size. They put just as much energy into this hunt as we did and only needed a few more snacks. This photo likely won't win any contest, but we hope it atleast inspires others to make their hunts about their family and the memories that will never be forgotten. We all need to be reminded of this often.
