My old gal lost her leg last week. Looks like osteosarcoma, pathology should be back soon. Hopefully she recovers enough to at least get out for grouse or planted pheasant. The pups training has fallen behind with all that’s been going on with big sis. Will get her back on track eventually!

Got the adult snows to play today. Watching them spin and drop out from the heavens is fun. If that don’t get your heart rate up I don’t know what will.

Skunks are just a couple baths. Coons unfortunately lead to vet bills sometimes.

I've been fortunate with skunks but Finn has tried two different porcupines, only one requiring a vet bill. I worry that barb wire will eventually get us. The dang stuff is scattered all over the place.

We've found porkies in the past as well. I pulled over 300 from the encounter pictured, vet pulled more, and there were more that randomly exited his body over the next week or two. Not much barb wire up here so they're kind of stupid about it when we travel to farm country to hunt.

That sounds like more than I've pulled from Finn but looks similar to the first encounter minus those in the chest. His mouth had a lot on the first and I was pulling as fast as I could and not sure how many I pulled before I got to his leg. The vet had to get some of the deep ones there and of course it was on a saturday out of town.

The second encounter wasn't quite as bad but was still a pain in the back side.
