Not my dog, but some of my favorite pictures I've ever taken on a hunt. A crane guide's new puppy that had contagious excitement for the birds. And below that is me with my first pheasant and my father-in-law's unconventional bird dog.

Finally got some to hold long enough for a shot! First grouse ive gotten close 2 in a month.

First bird of the day was on the other side of the fence, on private property. Of course. But he did a 180 and locked up, none the less. He doesn't always have a classic point, but I can clue in on when he's locked on.


Second bird of the day. Great point, still working on whoa to shot. He was able to find it in the brush and retrieve it.


Had a few other birds, ok points but when they flushed I was in a bad spot and they flew over the fence onto private. Couple others he busted before I got there. And the last one was a a great point I just flat out missed. It was a good day. I need more like it.
