I have laid down in the previous Mountain Star and it was just the tiniest bit too short for me (but sort of ok if I sleep diagonal). I’m 6’-2” and when laying flat on my back my feet and head nearly touched simultaneously while laying on a thermarest xtherm.

The new version shows 1.5” longer than the original. Has anyone measured this to confirm? If anyone has a confirmed floor to floor interior measurement of the updated Mountainstar I would appreciate it.

Interesting to see an updated version.
I have had these since the first model came out, and had a couple broken.

Approached Kuiu last week to buy a new outer fly for mine(not knowing they had a new model) and due to the configuration being different they are sending me a brand new full tent for free. Which is pretty impressive, considering the damage to the older tent was not what I would call warranty(kea/bird damage)

Great service from Kuiu and a great tent for the weight

For those looking for an official weight savings of this new model vs the previous it’s right at 3oz for carbon vs Carbon pole version. I reached out to Kuiu for this number.
Ok, do you you know the total weight for the fly, inner, stakes, poles and ground sheet?

Is the new line locs on the stake points and longer stake out cordage worth adding to the older version.

I have had the Star for a year now and my buddy is running the Storm. Overall it was a great tent. I only have a couple complaints:
1. A bit small for my liking. I am 5'11" 180lbs.
2. I did have some condensation issues. Even though the tent seemed very well ventilated. I used it throughout the summer scouting. Put it through the paces in September and October in CO. (High winds, rain and snow)
