Interesting change in the tag return period. You now have the chance to have your points restored on a returned tag. Looks like point creep is here to stay.

Am I reading it correctly, you would get pts restored to pre-draw, but would not be able to get an additional point for that year.

Sounds like you get points back, but don’t get a point for that year. Which they already did, but maybe the difference is you get a refund as well?

They're adding a new procedure for this year. Immediately after the draw they will send out emails notifying folks that they drew. They will have a "brief" period identified in the email in which folks can surrender their license BEFORE the CPW tries to charge them for it. They won't be charged, they'll get their PP's restored to the points they had for the draw, and they won't get a PP for that year.

Also, if they go to charge the individual and the CC on file doesn't work......they forfeit the tag and their points! That's big.

Everything else remains the same........i.e. turn tag in at least 30 days before the start of the season, you get your points or your money back.......not both.

Depends on how many PPs it took for the tag

If anyone did that within the last 3 seasons, they would have lost the tag and their points. Forfeiture of tag and points for nonpayment has been around at least that long.
