So he's tiny but he's my first buck! Goal was to kill on opening day so I could get back into the elk woods for one last week with my bow. Mission successful!
My buddy showed me a trick... just start recording a video, then you can take screen shots from that.
Edit: Just realized I'm giving photo advice right after posting a horrible picture of my goat. I left my phone in the SxS so my buddy took a couple quick pictures and then we got to gutting. Trust me though, the video thing works! I've gotten some great pictures with it!
Second weekend had fewer hunters, fewer antelope on accessible land, and antelope that were more skittish. There were still enough hunters though and another hunter killed a buck from a group that we'd been trying to cut off on Saturday. The guy never knew we were there and did nothing wrong, so congrats to him or her, but still a little disappointing on our end.
However, my oldest son was happy to kill this buck yesterday afternoon, his first, at 1:15. Both boys killed their first antelope this season.
After a five mile loop and almost back to the truck, we spotted this buck a mile on the other side of the road. An hour of slipping around put us in range. We drug him out whole for 7 tenths of a mile and took him apart back at camp.
