2022 Alaska Draw results

We (neighbor and I), drew any bull 20 mile moose! Very stoked about a highly sought after tag in our backyard.

Why is is sought after? just because its "any bull"? or because there are some monsters there? or because its close to home?

Pretty much all of the above. It’s a 1% draw, and we got 2 tags.
Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds an acorn.

My wife drew the same tag (165). There goes all my sheep plans. Time to hit the maps and get boots dirty.

I drew DM771, any bull moose in 20a and my wife drew an awesome caribou tag DC827 for the same area. We are going to look for a nice bull for hers. Hopefully I’ll have some good pics to share next fall.

That moose tag may not happen as things in 20A are quite desperate.

I saw some rumblings about that for cow tags, I guess we will see if the bull tags are included. Either way, I’m most excited about the DC827 caribou tag my wife drew. I have seen many nice bulls over the years but never had the tag myself.

There are some very nice caribou in that area....not massive herds but some very nice animals. I hunted Iowa Ridge many years back.
