Did you use an outfitter? or DIY? How physical is the terrain.?

This hunt was the first week of October.
My wife and I hunted DIY. We were on her draw goat tag, didn't get a goat, so I filled one of my OTC deer tags.
We were in goat terrain, so it was very physical. Steeper than previous goat hunts I've done in the Chugach.
Pack out for that deer was about 1000ft vert up and down scree over a mile to get back to our tent. Then another 1.5miles and 2,500ft down to get to the ocean.
We had tried to get dropped on an alpine lake, but the lake was frozen, so the plane dropped us in the saltwater.
Fortunately, all the brown bears wear pretty good trails through the alder to get down to the beach. Unfortunately, it means running into a lot of brown bears. We got within 50yds of 3 different bears.
