2021 Pronghorn. My goal over everything else was a good pronghorn buck. Some preseason scouting and unconventional ground blind tactics paid of on day 3.

Thanks! My daughter wasn’t interested in hunting whatsoever until she was 7. Out of the blue she said she wanted to hunt deer and it was all downhill from there. Her and her friend have both been hunting since they were 7 and have quite a few kills under their belts. They have a NM Mule Deer Youth Hunt coming up in November that should be awesome.
That is awesome! You’re one lucky dad! She’s lucky to have a dad that’ll take a girl out hunting. I’m hoping to get my daughter out next year for WI’s youth deer season. We will have to see though as I need her to start shooting a .243. Can’t wait until I can start taking her out west.

NM Youth Hunt. 585 yard shot and 270 yard shot. Not bad for two 9 year old girls. It was a blast. Made for some awesome green chili cheese bratwurst too!
I'm heading out in a couple weeks with my daughter to Wyoming for her first antelope hunt. Hope to be as successful as you. Awesome shooting by the girls!

I enjoy it, that’s for sure. She eats it up too. I get more excitement out of watching her shoot than I do shooting something for myself.

The wife got this nice buck a couple weeks ago. I was planning to make some jalapeño summer sausage with the grind meat, but the green chile bratwurst sounds pretty great (and my green chile plants have done well this year).

That’s a nice buck. You won’t be disappointed in the brat recipe. I’ve been boiling them in beer/water and throwing them on a hot pit for 10 minutes or so. They come out really good.

Here’s how I mounted mine from this year. The barn wood is from an old barn on my buddy’s great grandparents’ place where we hunt. The casing head is the one I shot him with and placed in the location of the ranch (sort of a spot burn I guess but it’s all private).

First ever antelope hunt in West Central Wyoming. My goal was 70" and I rough scored him at 72 7/8" so I'm as happy as I could be. I'm not sure if he was the largest buck I saw in the 2 days I hunted, but he made for an exciting hunt. I was stalking another buck to get a closer look and saw this buck and 7-8 does walking towards me. I got prone and watched them make their way towards me and the buck that I was originally stalking saw them and ran towards this group and got his butt kicked by this buck. I was excited after seeing that and shot this buck once I had a clean shot. The two other guys I was hunting with both killed nice bucks too.
