Second elk hunt for this pa boy. OTC Solo first hour on opening morning got into a heard with over a dozen bulls right out where I camped on the ridge. Ended up taking a satellite that ran in from behind me to get in on the action.

Billy Club I call him. Smallest elk of the 4 I've killed but was a great story. Scouted the area a few times in the summer and dreamed of killing an elk where I did. They were screaminh the night before and I'm still in the kill on the first day what you would be happy with on the last day mind set, but it's slowly going away.

Didn’t have much time to hunt this year between my last year of grad school, and the whole COVID thing (I’m in healthcare). This was my one weekend I had all the way free, I only hunted a couple other partial days. Getting out tomorrow for a late season cow hunt. This little fella came at the end of a great weekend in a new spot near home. The bike made easy(ish) work of the 5 miles between where he fell and the truck!

Idaho OTC archery bull and my first elk after many close calls over the last 3 years. Called him into 40 yards with about 20 minutes of daylight left and put the hurt on him. He's got a broken off G4 on his left side which hurts his score but I honestly think it adds character to him. Sadly, most of the pictures from that night didn't turn out very well, but I got a few decent ones.

I also run a surly, bob and tipi. The combo works well.
Which surly are you using? I have a pugsley and Ice cream truck.

My buddy and I filled tags a lil after day break in Montana Wednesday. 2 6pts exiting a deep draw @580y a few miles back into a state section. We did the 1, 2, 3 and boom boom, both bulls on the ground. Mine stayed up on the ridge, his staggered then fell sliding 50y down into the canyon. We shot @ 7:40am, got everything to the truck at 5pm. Packed all the meat and heads out in 2 rounds trips, it's was misery. Elk meat is always earned.

So it turns out the "1, 2, 3 BOOM!" actually works? Haha we have tried it with antelope and never gotten two at once. Hunting this weekend with a buddy and we both have cow tags. Seems like a nice time to try "1, 2, 3 BOOM!" again and see if we get one. We basically made a deal to split whatever we get if we only get one so this could be fun!
