2018 Planned Hunts

Just thought it would be neat to see what hunts you are all planning or hoping for in 2018. I think most of the Western States have opened draws ?

I have planned with tags:
April Utah Turkey hunt
Aug Utah Spike Elk OTC Archery (don't have tag but they are unlimited here)
Sept Idaho Elk Archery
Sept Idaho Deer Archery

I am hoping to draw :
Utah General deer (archery, rifle or muzzy)
Utah Antelope Rifle
Utah Cow Elk Tag
Utah late season Turkey

I have already tagged out in AZ OTC Early season deer archery

Texas, nebraksa and should draw Iowa this year. Going to get my 2nd antelope point this year for Wyoming in hopes of drawing a tag next year

Slim to none chance to draw:

And quail somewhere (colorado, nm, or az).

using 10 points in Colorado for a 3rd season deer with my dad
plan on going during archery to hunt for elk with my son and a deer for him and just scout out the area for 3rd season rifle.
maybe Nevada elk too. lets see what the point gods do for us
and of course will shoot a couple deer here in California.

I will be doing a spring grizzly hunt somewhere close to home.

Fall grizzly and sheep.
Maybe help a friend get a moose

Wyoming Antelope if I draw with some family and friends
Texas spring turkey and fall/winter ducks Maybe some dove hunting

And if my rotations line up a late mountain goat and early sheep hunt.

Fall bear if no kill this spring
Deer here and hopefully draw a tag in Colorado
At least a couple antelope also
Have app in for mountain goat but its a loooooong shot

I am planning my first elk hunt too. I am going to put in for a Montana general tag and maybe a limited entry permit area. If that doesn't work out I am planning on Colorados over the counter second rifle season.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm going to enjoy the process.

March-May is GA turkey

Fall - hoping for first western hunt, going to go for Antelope buck and some doe tags.

I would love elk tag, any tag. I would honestly love to start with a cow elk. Not sure I can swing that with time off and money.

From Sept thru January it's GA deer, bear and dove, quail.

OTC hunts that are in the books for 2018:
Mountain Goat in less than two weeks.
Spring Bears.
Hunting Dall's on a HT in August - always chance of taking a caribou or griz as extra if the opportunity arrives

Other than that, I will be planning around draw results which come out in less than a week! Really hoping for a cow moose close to home for either me or my wife. More caribou tags, goat, sheep, bison and musk ox are all a long shot so we will see!
I may be due to draw a North Dakota Badlands mule deer for November.
