Nevada 10/30, public land solo mission. Found him asleep at 115 yards, got a better shot at 50, and the doe he was with picked me off. They ran to 150 and I put the hammer down. Picked up the whole deer and packed him down the mountain.

My dad came with me for my late NV rifle deer hunt in central NV. We brought my 6 year old son for the first three days so he could go on his first deer hunt. My son spotted the buck we eventually ended up taking.

Great hunt overall. Saw some bucks chasing does at 80 yds. After six days of glassing, we decided to make a move on this one. Snuck in to 190 yds and made the shot. Pretty awesome my 69 year old dad is still packing animals out with me.

At 32 years old I killed my first deer. Solo backpack hunt, OTC, DIY, Public Land with 10% success rate. The pack out was difficult but extremely rewarding. The meat is outstanding. Great job on your deer guys. I need a new tent and sleep pad for sure.
