2018 KANSAS Sheds

Thanks...I literally destroyed a new pair of merrells in just 2 months walking...

lower population....populations half what it was less than 10 years ago.

I hunted in SE NE right on the Kansas line and everybody else said the same thing from the few EHD outbreaks.

Yours the same or the continues popularity with out of state hunters.

I hear you. I did have access to serval very large farms for shed hunting which is why I thought I do better even early.

You'd prolly do better if you weren't real unlucky! :)

I loved shed hunting in KS when I lived there, I'd start in Feb and continue on into late Apr. Such good exercise and usually ended up with a good many after each spring.

Just ask supernut about the 17 year old buck he had on cam!! 😂😂😂😂
With a bit of research one can turn up links to deer age studys...its not uncommen for a doe to live 15+ years in the wild...oldest known doe in captivity was 23 I believe! I'm of the school that deer live much longer than most people think...

nice sheds....

curious about the 10 year old deer? why you have never harvested him, if you have watched him for ten years? gotta be an awesome story behind that!

Hunted this deer since 2010...seen him in daylight exactly ZERO times in 8 years!! Only a couple cam pics in all those years and a few sheds...this is the most intelligent buck I've ever had the pleasure to hunt...now with that said his core areas the size of a football field and I have 6 stands in his small area...Its like Winke says...that as bucks get old their core areas shrink and they get more relaxed moving in daylight in that small arera....soooo we will see if he gets arrowed next year.if he don't die of old age first...lol

We had a little bit of EHD 4-5 years back....I think the #1 problem is excessive predators followed by over-allotment of tags...if we go back to a strict draw everyone would reap the rewards. Every year there is a few 170"+ bucks hit on the highways in this county alone....then some clowns idea to make any center-fire weapon legal in rifle season equals alot of wounded deer...And poachers will always be a problem, resident and non-residents alike.

Seen a MASSIVE decrease in deer since 4 years ago non-residents recieve a free doe tag with their either sex tag....many who would never shoot a doe now do just because they got a free tag...

A 10 year old buck is a unicorn in these parts of northern wisconsin, now a 17 year old one is a bit of a stretch, even for supernut

2019 sheds....
