Anyone know when they start shipping? Also is the sizing the same as 2014, looks like some new pieces are longer in torso

they also have a bunch of pictures and descriptions of the whitetail and big game stuff on facebook. Im sad to say I used my wife's account to view it! lol

A few pics I grabbed off of Facebook.

i'll only buy sitka at a discount. If you look at kuiu, kryptek, core4element and first lite's prices for the the same or better quality of gear, sitka is over priced.

Anyone know if that shoulder pad in the vest is removeable? THat'll probably be a deal breaker for a lot of folks if it's not removeable.

I like the Traverse cold weather hoody, hopefully it has the same fit and function as the regular traverse just with more insulation. Would be perfect for Fly Fishing, Hiking, work etc. etc., especially with the built in face mask. I'll pick one up if it comes in the solid colors.

While I think there is a real need for blaze options that cater to the needs of the backcountry hunter, my initial thoughts on this vest are this:

Did they stick that stupid pad in there just so they could justify charging $75-$100 (maybe more) for a blaze orange vest?
Who in the hell needs a shoulder pad for big game hunting? By the time blaze season rolls around, many hunters are wearing a couple of layers anyway, recoil is seldom, if ever, an issue when taking a kill shot. I regularly Whitetail hunt with a Remington 760 in 30-06. That thing will rock your world at the range, but might as well be a pellet gun when I take a kill shot.

The solid blaze vest options on the market are fairly terrible. The best one I have found in a youth mesh vest, but you can't wear mesh in all states. So, we're stuck with polyester, usually with weight adding features such as pockets and non accommodating to bino harnesses. The only difference between vests from different companies are that some are cheap and others are $50+. Would somebody just come up with a backcountry hunter's blaze vest already?

That cold weather traverse looks great.
Don't know why but the traverse has always been my favorite 3 season layer. This looks like they just took it up a notch. Hopefully they kept it fairly light

I want the Traverse hoodie in grey. Btw, I think I saw that MSRP on the blaze vest was $149?? Ouch if it is.

Filson used to make one. It was just a cape type thing that went over your outer wear...pretty much just covered your chest and shoulders and snapped in the front. No pockets, no collar, etc. I've got one.

As far as the pad, I don't even rifle hunt, but I know some guys that upland hunt in Sitka. Probably catered to them.

I have a 3/4 fleece vest from Cabelas that has nothing and weighs nothing. I don't see it on their website anymore, though.

I'd like the regular Traverse with a fill zip, especially in a solid. Other than that, only the Kelvin Light Hoody has any real appeal to me, given that I've already got a lot of Sitka Gear.
