2014 Hoyts

The "new" cams are very similar in feel and performance to past generations of the family (Z3, XTR, Fuel, RKT, and now Z5). I haven't spent much time with the cams, but my first impression was that they have tweaked the RKT slightly to work with the 2014 riser geometries while trying to further smooth the back end of the curve and maintain velociity. In my opinion, the RKT was very, very good and this iteration should not disappoint unless you were hoping for something radically different.

Sounds to me ,then, if you have a 2013 model the only thing really gaining with the 14's is a carbon turbo offering. Is that a fair observation?

Which, by the way, it's a dang good addition!! Probably sway me to a carbon bow finally.

I'm interested to see what folks think about the Tiburon. I was looking at a Gamemaster II, but the Tiburon looks like an improved version.

I will let you know what i think fisky. I would imagine the new cam will be sweet just like the rkt !

I'm not that impressed with the '14 lineup, with the exception of the carbon turbo, I think with the price of new bows you'd be better off picking up a used '13 since the improvement and "shootability" is going to be marginal.

Just my opinion of course, it's subject to change after I shoot them. ;)

I have not heard new price points. We're hoping for lower but of course i'm sure they will stay the same at that $1400 mark!

General question. Why the love for the Spyder Turbo? From the Element you gain 1.5 inches of ATA and give up 3/4 of an inch of brace height for 8 fps.

Ill get to see the new Carbon Turbo tomorrow morning. Cam's bringing his in to get set up. Ill shoot it a bit after we tune it and give you guys some feed back.

Well I was able to put some arrows through the Carbon Spyder Turbo. First impression is that it's very smooth. The new Z5 cams pull very easy through the whole cycle. Good back wall to. I thought the 82# pulled as easy as my Turbo at 73#. This is going to be a great bow for guys. Smooth, quiet, and fast. 2 thumbs up for the CS Turbo.

Awesome Thanks!

What spine FMJ did you end up setting it with?

Cam has been shooting the FMJ Injexions for the past couple years in a 400 spine. It's not ideal but at 27" cut they're just stiff enough.

Doesn't cam pull 80++, at least that's what I remember when I talked to him in Eugene last year. that must be a well tuned bow to be shooting that

Or archer I assume you work at the bow rack, what's the wall price for that bad boy?
