2014 Hoyts

Made the mistake of shooting the CS 34 and CS 30. Really loved the feel of the carbon, and the 34" seemed to hold really solid on target. Only thing I wish Hoyt had was a more solid back wall. That being said if I can sell my current rig ill probably be ordering a CS Turbo.

Were the cams synched? Sometimes bows off the shelf are not (either from the factory set-up or cable creep after assembly), and it can leave you with a general impression about the manufacture, cam system or bow which isn't generally true. It has been my experience that many "pro shops" are not mindful of small details like this (the better ones certainly are). Due to the manner that Hoyt uses for the draw stop they legitimately may not be as rock solid as some other manufacturer's bows, but I have always found the wall fully adequate when preoperly set up.

Cams were synched, and if they weren't we can give Evan a hard time haha.

A super hard draw stop is a "nice" feeling - however, I have found that a little give in the wall of the cam (like the Hoyts) actually makes it easier to get through the shot and makes the bow more forgiving - especially if you're a back tension shooter. Done a lot of experimenting on this with several top pros.

Darin do you know anyone in the market for a Creed, so I can start experimenting with this more forgiving back wall? Haha

I thought my cams were synced, too. But I built a draw board and found out they weren't nearly as close as I thought. Synced them up and that Hoyt RKT wall got super solid. I'll probably order a Carbon Spyder 34 after the first of the year.

Had the Carbon Spyder 30 and Faktor 30s show up at the shop today. These bows are quite impressive. Loving the new Z5 cam. I set up a CS 30 for a customer today. Thing tuned up super easy and drove tacks.

Comparing the two side by side they both performed great. Having the same cam system they drew similar. Hold on target was great on both bows. Noise level Id give to the Faktor but its a small small difference.

Hoyt hit another home run this year.

What's the price point on the CS this year? I haven't been to the shop to check them out yet.

A very hard wall isn't a good thing specially if you shoot the way everyone should and thats by pulling into the wall, or pushing and pulling. With a hard wall more than likely you will pull yourself off your target, high and potentially right. We have ours at CS 30, 34's and Turbos at 1400.00.

What's your guys opinion on tuning the fixed roller guards? Do they really put a lot of torque on the riser, and make it harder to tune?

From what I have seen from am expert tuner, the top cam usually has very little lean. And the new 14's carbon riser is super stiff. I have seen that the new Hoyt's will tune just fine. And pretty easy if you know what your doing lol

Not hard to tune, but from my experience with most right handed bows you will have to have a little lean on the top cam for them to tune well, called "Yoke Tuning", or super tuning. The string should be square at full draw.

On the Carbon Spyder 30 I set up and sold the other day I didn't touch the yokes at all. Set the rest to run down the middle of the shelf, set the loop just a hair above center then set the timing. Had it shooting perfect through paper in under 6 arrows. Just a super easy bow to tune. Guy was dotting the X at 20 in no time flat.

Awesome bows for sure. My past three Hoyts i usually get a little left tear and i can take that out by twisting the left yoke. Still very easy!

Couldn't pass up the Carbon Spyder Turbo. Ordered a "Black Out" one this week. Loving the specs. Currently shooting a Spyder Turbo...
