hey Baby Huey ! I watched those darn bucks for four days hoping they would move to a more bow friendly spot. I'm glad to see you'uns got the chance to get into their safe spot! If I can draw again we'll have to have that coffee. We'll be camped at the same place. See ya!
Sounds like a good plan recurve shooter - let me know if you draw!
Also, I wanted to give a shout out to the Customer Service department at Kifaru and to Patrick himself.
As stated in the write up the chest strap buckle broke that holds the gunbearer strap. I also had an issue with the top of the duplex frame wearing a bit. After emails to Armyjoe and working with Evan, Kifaru was able to get my pack repaired and fitted in under 5 days - even though they said it may be a week or more out. They helped push the repair since I had an archery cow elk hunt in a week and a half. When I arrived after being notified the pack was ready, Evan was helping other customers and let me know it would be a few minutes before he could get to me. I was milling around looking at other Kifaru gear when Patrick (owner) walked by and made sure I was getting attention. I informed him of the warranty repairs and that I was just waiting to get the reapaired pack back. We discussed the repairs, the pack and frame designs and hunting.
Patrick took time to assist Evan in getting the pack fitted to me to a "T", so that was a great bonus. I appreciate all of the work that Kifaru did to get the pack ready for my next hunt.
The EMRII on the duplex frame performed great and I have packed out this deer and 1/2 an elk with this pack. I don't forsee myself needing another pack, as this one meets all of my needs. It is great to be able to leave the main compartment empty and use the wings for day hunting. Being able to lay the pack flat and place meat in the main pack and then strap it down on the inside makes it a fantastic pack to haul meat. It's only been one hunting season, but I am impressed with this pack, frame and service from Kifaru.
Received my mount back from the taxidermist and it is up on the wall. I always wanted a velvet buck, and I think it turned out pretty nice. Next adventure is to get one with my bow!
What unit were you guys hunting in? I'm holding 6 points now and need to start looking for an area. My plan was an Eastern Plains hunt but those high peaks sure are majestic.
