When you figure it out, please let me know. My wife wants me to go all the time, but she also wants me to make more money.
:)
I wanted to go to Reno, but this is usually a very bad time of year to get away. Maybe next year.

Try this. Sheep hunting requires you to be in great physical shape. Book the hunt, get in awesome shape, show her your abs, then tell her the Sheep hunt gives you motivation to workout. Its a WIN_WIN_WIN....

Join the military...get stationed in AK...keep your residency and then you can return and hunt without a guide as a resident until you retire from the service!

Don't try to convince your wife...just tell her! :)

I got a room at Harrah's so I'll be there Friday and Saturday now. Can't wait, and it really helps pass the time waiting for the '9ers to play. I'll have some framed original artwork with me in town... it's great for horse trading! If anyone knows someone there who likes this kind of stuff for their walls, send em my way! As far as getting together for a member meet n greet, my # is 831-277-4384. I'm game for anything. And I mean anything.

She loves for me to hunt for several reasons including a great reason to get in shape. Still comes down to a time and money deal at some point. Since I have a Dall (last year in Alaska) and a Stone from B.C., my priority is a Rocky and Desert. I'm not in the position and not willing to spend $35,000+ each to finish the 4. She's onboard, but wouldn't be really happy if I just bought one of the hunts. Like J Dog's idea, but I will be 50 in March and I'm not sure the military wants me that bad and I might as well plan on getting the big D before I sign up. She's a redhead, need I say more. Extremely supportive of my hunting, but there are still limits. Not much more than 30 days a year hunting out-of-state.

Hey guys, had a great time at the show today. I'll do a quick run down of some of the gear I got to put in my hands. First of all there are a ton of different outfitters from all over the world and a guy could book a hunt anywhere on the planet if he had the money.

Got a chance to look at the Stone Glacier packs, I was told they are being sold exclusively through Schnees. The packs are very light and definantly a minimalist type. They did have some additional pockets and a rifle sling you can add on. Nice gear for sure.

Another Pack company I though was interesting and had not heard much about was Oregon Pack works. The owner was more than accommodating and spent a ton of time answering all my question and reviewing his whole pack system, there are a ton of options to be sure.

I also got a chance to see the new Vortex Razor Spotters. The 50 and 65 mm will be great for backpack hunters simply due to there size.

Couple other highlights, got to meet Aaron and he was able to show me a Bikini frame, high camp bag, and some kifaru pouches in the Kryptek camo pattern. Also got to check out the new Blacks Creek line of pack which are definantly a step up from previous products.

Enjoy guys.

how do all these pack companies make it? There can't be "that" many hikers/hunters to keep them all in business, is there?
