Think like Clint did in Dirty Harry: "Do you feel lucky?". I'm not saying that you won't draw as you can with no points, but you are really fighting an uphill battle based on Montana's draw system. BB and I and others went through the whole process a while back and you really need to analysis where you want to spend your money. Go to http://www.rokslide.com/forums/show...-any-info-on-buying-building-points-per-state as a start and either add to that thread or start another. Its nice to get some new perspectives on the subject. I have a bunch of points, but it never seems to be enough as a nonresident.

BTW, I got another goat point also.

I drew UT mt goat this year with 4 pts, I drew a NM Ibex tag last year on my first attempt. It can happen.....but that horseshoe up your a** can hurt!

Also depends on what unit you apply for and what your expectations are. I'm with Matt, but you need to decide the game that you are going to play. Montana is a relatively inexpensive state to apply in, but hard to draw certain species in "trophy units", ie: 482 and 680 sheep. I wouldn't be afraid to start, but decide where you want to put your money. Odds are awful even with a lot of points.

That doesn't make sense. I would double-check and if it still appears that you have 2 numbers, I would check with the Fish and Wildlife department.

Brad, that looks like a problem to me. Check with the department as you don't want 2 ALS's diluting your points or not giving you credit for the ones you already have.

I will check with them tomorrow. I actually thought I noticed the 2 numbers earlier this year and thought it was just me doing something wrong. I actually thought I should have one more point then I do, so now I am really not sure.

Got it fixed. Basically they said the system does not prevent you from creating a new customer any time you want and I must have created a new customer some how. So I went into the draw with zero points this year I guess. Not sure how it wouldn't flag the name with the same address, phone, CC, etc. But I guess it does not. So they will merge my points, but especially you guys with max points don't' do what I did or your odds of drawing will be LOTS less!
