Not looking for something huge; day to overnight, maybe 2. I've always used water bladders so I'd like to stick with something compatible. Anything in that price range that's durable? It will pull double duty as my hiking and training pack.

You just missed out on a sitka flash 20 in classifieds for 150. That would have been great starter pack.

I have a Horn Hunter pack that I'm selling for $125. It is an internal frame pack, can easily handle a two - three day trip. PM if you are interesred.

I think a marine filbe or a used Dana designs pack are about the best deal around for under $200. Check eBay.

You might want to look at the slumberjack(SJK) bounty 4500. It has been redesigned to the bounty 2.0 so the older 4500 are going for between 150-180ish. I got one from sierra trading for I think 149. Amazon may have some as well.

Check out REI. Yeah, they're not hunting packs, but if you don't need the massive hauling capabilities of a Kifaru, then you can get a pretty good pack for your money. Gregory packs make a very comfortable, durable pack. Pretty much any pack from them is decent for an overnight, just go in and they can usually help get one that will fit you best

I have a sitka flash 20 (not perfect) I'd sell for 160, also have a sitka flash 32(not perfect) I'd take 215 for
Both great packs, have hydration, and a lot of features I find very useful

I've got an Eberlestock X1 I'd sell for under $100. If that's something your interested in, shoot me a PM!

I have an eberlestock pack that I believe is the blue widow. I'd sell it for $150

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, I'll have to look into them. As far offers, I'm looking to unload some cabelas gift cards so at the moment I'm seeing if they carry anything listed.

Just a heads up, the North Face Terra 65 (it's on Cabelas site, listed at $179) is a really nice pack for what you described. I owned one for a very short while and really liked it. It's comfortable, more than enough space for a night or two, and lots of nice features. Just thought I'd let you know.

X2 are a great backpack. Holds enough for day hunt/overnighter. You can carry two boned out quarters from a mule deer in it. They are durable and do their job just like they are suppose to.

Badlands diablo would be another suggestion.

I just used and REI cresttrail 70 for 1st season in Colorado this year. I'm in pretty good shape but it hauls 50lbs comfortable. North of that it gets a little tiring. One thing to keep in mind with an internal frame hiking/trail backpack is that they will never be as stable/strong as an external frame pack with larger loads (there are probably some exceptions), but they are usually just as comfortable at lighter loads that could be associated with an overnight for couple day trip. If we would have had to pack meat from where we were it would have probably sucked but I knew that going in. I just ran out of budget for a new pack.

My friend brought a badlands clutch and it seemed to work quite well. I would say load wise it carried about the same as mine although my load lifters provided more lift than his. This could have just been a fitting issue though.

If you go the internal frame hiking pack route I would seriously look at REI, Gregory, Osprey, Arcteryx (if you can find on sale). Try them all on with weight and see how they fit. You can do this at any REI usually.
