Anyone have a 20” barrel 22-250 with an 8 twist or faster? I am wondering what velocities you are getting and what bullets you are shooting.

If you're chasing velocity RL17 will be your friend. My 22-250 doesn't have that fast of a twist but it wears a 18in 12tw Brux and I shoot the 53Vmax around 3600 w/RL17.

Same as B23, my dad has an 18” 22-250 with an 8 twist and I’m getting 3600 fps with a 53gr Vmax and StaBall 6.5. He’s only interested in it for varmints at closer range so I haven’t loaded any of the heavy 75gr ELDM as he prefers the flatter trajectory of the light bullets.

I bought a christensen FFT with 20" 14 twist, but haven't chrono'd it yet. Have only shot a few groups with factory ammo but seems promising with 55gr hornady. I hope to be able to just use factory ammo with this one as time for handloading is sparse.

Well not exactly 20" but I wore out a 1-8"tw 22-250 22" rock rock creek barrel with 33.5gr of r15 in win brass and 210m's. Velocity was 3250 with moly'd 75amaxs. I'd think 3150-3200 "should" be doable in a 20. Had a lot of fun with that barrel.

I just picked up a left hand Tikka 22-250 for my son. Going to have it cut to 20” and the smith has an AI reamer so that’s what we will end up with. I’ve been waiting for one of these or a .223 in left hand to come back in stock forever.

The Lapua brass is no where to be found right now.

Lapua said they are dropping production of .22-250 brass among other cartridges for the time being which is why you can’t find them.

Apex defense has it in stock, I need to pay with bitcoin though.

I hope you know that is a scam site, if you do not then assume that any site that won’t take credit cards and only accepts Zelle or other such payments is a scam.

I called him, nice guy named Sam with an Indian accent. He told me about a tattoo shop that has a bitcoin machine I could put cash into then send him crypto for the brass.
