How does the fee for the guide work when you are hunting over a month and coming and going?

If you tagged out in hour 3, but the season is open for a month and you booked the guide for that period, are you paying for the month? Month-long commitment fee adjusted for time used?

I’ve never been on a guided hunt, but my guess is with a once-in-a-lifetime tag like this one, it’s just a flat rate. Like $25k flat to get a sheep, day 1 or day 30. Not like an average deer or elk tag where they could easily pick up another client to fill the rest of the season if the reaper kills day 1.

But I could be talking out my rear too.

The max days of a hunt would have been agreed to (in a contract drafted by the outfitter) on the front end, but the hunter should not expect a partial refund if he tags out on day 1. He should just count his blessings.

I've never been on a sheep hunt but I did a few guided hunts years ago and there is never any refunds 😂. They're usually looking for things to charge you extra for.

Didnt’ think there would be any refunds, just curious with such a long season and coming and going.

See, you ‘sliders aren’t a bunch of Jackwagon Idiots and you know a thing or two!! I LEARNED SOMETHING

Assuming every outfit is different, I looked it up, from their website.

PRICING:
All of our hunts are fully guided and outfitted one-on-one hunts which include all pre-season scouting. We know from past experience that quality trophy hunts will generally average 7 to 10 days… Therefore we offer the following:

10 day hunt
7 day hunt
5 day hunt

Looks like no option for a 30 day, come and go. However if you hold the tag, you can keep hunting the full season without a guide. So once they give you the guided tour, could just stay on your own.

I’d guess with the weather the outfitter gave them the option to come back after things have settled, plus it could help space out the hunters.
