I’ve never been on a guided hunt, but my guess is with a once-in-a-lifetime tag like this one, it’s just a flat rate. Like $25k flat to get a sheep, day 1 or day 30. Not like an average deer or elk tag where they could easily pick up another client to fill the rest of the season if the reaper kills day 1.How does the fee for the guide work when you are hunting over a month and coming and going?
If you tagged out in hour 3, but the season is open for a month and you booked the guide for that period, are you paying for the month? Month-long commitment fee adjusted for time used?
The max days of a hunt would have been agreed to (in a contract drafted by the outfitter) on the front end, but the hunter should not expect a partial refund if he tags out on day 1. He should just count his blessings.I’ve never been on a guided hunt, but my guess is with a once-in-a-lifetime tag like this one, it’s just a flat rate. But I could be talking out my rear too.

Who didn't see that coming. Guide do all the leg work and put him in a good spot. Ditch the guide come back later and kill that 158 "on his own", because guide was crap, a hater, and didn't know how to hunt.Looks like he ditched the guide to mule deer hunt, and will diy ?
