Got a line on these:
7mm-08 Remington Mountain (VX3 3x9)
6.5x55 700 classic (some sort of Vortex)

Dies for both as well.

Girl, I work with, her dad is wanting to move a lot of rifles to fund a new Harley.
That 7mm is the one I want. Really didn't see any information as of late on this one. What's the thought on this model?
Should have pics and an idea of the asking price in a few days

both would be amazing rifles to have in the safe that would cover a lot of needs in the field. Look forward to the pics, out of the two I'm with you and would take the 7-08. I've had a couple mountain rifles, there are lighter backcountry rifles out there but I think the weight on these kind of hits a sweet spot. Mine were very accurate also.

If you want light weight, go with the MR. I still have a couple.

6.5x55 would also be fine.

I would jump on both.

Don’t let the scopes sway your thinking.

Mountain rifle from the 80s-90s are wonderful guns, back from when Remington took pride in their work. Nice action and very handy to hold. I have one in 3006 I inherited and it’s a bit light for me to shoot well. The 7mm08 will be great

I love the MR stock and slim barrel.

With 140 gr bullets the 6.5x55 is 100 fps faster than a creedmoor. The classic stock is pure Remington - it’s somewhat of an odd shape in the pistol grip, but it reminds me of new rifles on the shelf as a kid. I day dreamed about having either the mountain rifle or classic, but my junior high school budget from working at the hardware store for $1.85/hr meant an ADL from Kmart was going to have to do. Now I have the same old school classic stock and every time it’s picked up reminds me how much it influenced my rifle choices over the years.
