2 person tent recommendations? Help!

Looking for a solid light weight tent I can use year round for me and my wife or me and a friend+ a little bit of gear, would like to stay under $500 and if possible around 300. I’ve looked at the kuiu options as well as the copper spur which looks like another solid option. Lmk what you all recommend

3 Season go to is Big Agnes Copper Spur. I’d recommend a 3 person tent for 2 adults.

I won't share a 2 person tent (like a KUIU) with a buddy unless its a survival situation. I'd get a floorless with a nest like an Argali or SO. If its just the wife the KUIU is fine

I run a seek outside Cimmaron and it’s plenty of room for 2, a stove, and gear. I also run the 2 person nest if it’s needed. Might look at the Durston xmid options.

Agree. Sheesh, I wouldn’t share a 4 person tent w/any of my buddies. Snoring, farting…no way. Every man for himself.

Since this is for you and your wife, do a 3 person tent. I own a 3 person Copper Spur due to my wife. Its a weight penalty, but if she enjoys backpacking with me, its worth it for me.

Now, I am looking for a tent for myself, and once the finances allow, it'll be a Argali Dynemia tent.

Really liked the copper spur for a floored shelter. If you want floor less, my wife and I used a Kifaru tut for a couple years. SO cimmaron would be comparable since they dont make the tut anymore

My primary tent for a decade has been a tarptent stratospire2. A little more roomy than most 2p tents but wouldn't want to share with a dude. It's been perfectly comfortable for me and the wife though. We got engaged in it while backpacking actually.
