Looking for a 2 man tent to take to Kyrgyzstan 1st week in September on 10 day ibex hunt. Must be light durable and 100% water proof

Check out the Brooks Range Foray. Luke Moffat wrote a review of it on here. I just received mine and used it in the pouring rain in Seward, AK and it was bone dry, no condensation whatsoever. Its pretty small, but for a 1 person tent with room for gear, or two smaller people, it is great. Weighs less than 3 lbs fully packed with stakes. Backcountry.com had them on sale recently.

check out hilleberg anjan 2 gt i think it is.

hilleberg allak or staika. both the same design only the allak has lighter fly material and poles for weight savings. the allak is bombproof, the staika is ultra super dooper bombproof

is there such a thing as light and durable?

Thanks guys I'll check these out.
Any info on new kuiu 2P

I have owned 2 Hillebergs (still own a Jannu). This spring I got a Kuiu Stormstar and used it for 10 nights on my wife's brown bear hunt with her on Kodiak this spring. Overall I was very impressed. Great space/weight. Setup is fast and sets up from the outside just like the Hillebergs I have owned. But the useable space and layout is superior IMO. Its a legit tent for 2 guys and the 2 door and 2 vestibules all for less than 5.5 pounds is pretty hard to beat IMO. I will continue to use and test it throughout this summer/fall. If I still like it by the end of the season then the Hilleberg will be getting sent down the trail. ;)

2brassballs - I don't want to hi-jack the thread but I've been following closely.

Luke - As I've looked at the Jannu, Nallo 2 or Nammatj 2 as a 4-season tent. Would you think the Kuiu Storm Star could replace the Jannu? Also, what about comparing to the Big Sky Chinook? I know some have said they are similar in design/concept and look similar in specs. There are a lot of choices out there. Thanks. - B

I'd also go with a Hilleberg: Hilleberg the Tentmaker | Outdoor Tents and Hunting Gear

There are several to choose from as far as weights and designs, but no matter which Hilleberg you go with, you can know it'll be 100% waterproof, it'll withstand almost any wind you would dare to be out in, and they are going to hold up not just for the one hunt, but for many to come. All the ones at the link above are part of their "Red Label" series which means they are the middle road between lightweight and durable. The "GT" Models have an extended vestibule which could be nice if you're looking to store your gear at a basecamp. If you're moving to different sites every day, you might want to get one without. Anyway, I've used several of their models, and have never been disappointed.

Ps. That sounds like a sweet hunt. Have fun, be safe, and good luck!

Thanks guys
That's a lot of info
After reading what guys here have to say and doing my own resource
I think it's gonna be between kuiu Storm start and hilleburg nallo 2
At this point price and weight will be determining factor ..

Weather can get hectic in Kyrg - high altitude, little cover and you won't walk back to civilisation. Hilly is the answer.

Does your outfitter not provide tents?

Yes they use 12$ Wal Mart tents
My hunt is 2nd week of September so I'm hopping rain doesn't wash us out.
